RESTORE a little every day…
So much grounding and release showed up at our RESTORE event this past weekend, along with some real big JOY!!! The sunshine, the leaves on the ground, feeling safe connection with others, and easing into rest without responsibilities to focus on were just some of the magical ingredients weaving together an afternoon of healing. The most magical element was being with our horses, including most of the Spirit Farm mares, fillies and foals!
Our herd was delighted to be in the presence of the grateful expansive energy suffusing the farm as the helpers, healers and lightworkers made space for what they needed today. How did this delight show up for our animals? In their curiosity, willingness to lean into the hands and hearts of our visitors and choosing to be in our midst. The horses, as always, sensed what was needed, chose to be there and offered their presence as a gift to those who felt run down, depleted and disillusioned by the hustle and heaviness of the world outside. As well as taking what they needed and simply enjoying being with the new humans visiting today. All this happens while they are simply being themselves.
While being with horses takes you to unique and mystical places, nature is always here to offer you ease and flow whenever you need it. And so today I am writing about how we can get a little more RESTORED every day. Yes, it may not feel like a profound transformation. But it’s the ordinary everyday instances in which we can connect with ourselves, the healing aspects of the natural world and with other beings that can help us replete.
Here is your invitation to fall into right now, into being creative and spontaneous, and creating space for trying something a little different no matter how silly you might feel. Take a whirl with these ideas and share if you found these or other ideas RESTORING. We can all learn from each other during these crazy times!
RESTORE yourself today by:
- Taking three deep breaths in and out, letting your whole body fill with air as you inhale, then releasing this back to the Universe as you exhale. Imagine yourself taking in peace, strength, joy or whatever you are needing right now, letting go of what you no longer want in this moment.
- Having a warm cup of tea, smelling your favorite foods or essential oils, or lighting a candle and imagining the world lighting up as you really take in the colors and patterns of the flames. This is about soothing yourself by inviting joy and ease into your five senses.
- Take a brisk walk in a park, on the grass, by the trees, on the fall leaves. Focus on your body moving with ease, fully embracing your five senses and revel in what you see, hear, smell, taste and touch.
- Give yourself a hug, snuggle into a soft blanket and think of one thing you liked about today.
- Pet your cat or dog, again embracing your five senses and also feeling into the heartspace between you, i.e. that magical space of connection.
- Remember you are always carried forward by the Universe. You are being nurtured and you matter!
- Take a moment or two at sunrise or sunset to look up at the sky, taking in the colors and textures of the sun rising or sinking away and realizing that this is the only time you’ll ever see a sunrise or sunset exactly like this.
- Take time to nourish your body with sleep, good food and movement. Show yourself some love!
- Meditate for a few moments every day, noticing your body breathing, the feel of your feet on the ground, or perhaps focusing on a mantra or phrase that feels uplifting for you.
- Connect to your Higher Purpose, however that looks for you. Maybe this means prayer, writing down what you appreciate, speaking out loud to the Universe or lighting some candles. It’s whatever fits you.
- Spend time with a person you care about. Really lean into the space of connection, listen to what they are saying and what they aren’t, notice how you feel in their presence. Let yourself appreciate their presence if this is available to you, or send them an imaginary or real hug as you feel comfortable.
These are just a few ideas! I’d love to hear from you about your special RESTORING tips 🙂
