This book is my heart-speak and my heart fire. It is a song of all the hidden joyful shameful things in my life and how I met them with the heedless courage it takes to plunge off a diving board headfirst.

I began to find my voice when I met horses. For me, horse magic is a portal into extraordinary worlds. Through it, I learned much about my body, my boundaries, my love for the natural world and what it means to truly connect with another sentient being. All my horses offer me the gift of self-discovery. However, my heart horse Stella was my truest mentor. She was a teacher, muse, mother, and friend. She was an Earth High Priestess who stripped off my mask and revealed my gifts to me and the world. She transitioned and crossed the Rainbow Bridge on July 14, 2022. Even in spirit form, she guides me in my creativity, risk taking and just plain living day to day.

The poetry in this book is inspired by Stella. It is steeped in goddess wisdom, speaking my truth, and sharing my love of the natural world with you. I share my shadows and light and, in my experience, revealing these shadow aspects makes room for the light to get in.

I hope that reading these poems will inspire you to take up space, expand and shine brightly as the supernova you are!

Meet Shreyasi

Shreyasi is a multifaceted healer residing with her husband Frank, many dogs and cats, and a herd of horses on her farm in Sherwood Park. She has three stepchildren and five beautiful grandchildren.

Her work is helping people to navigate emotional pain, rediscover their gifts and live their fullest lives. She started this journey by training as a psychiatrist and psychotherapist. Learning other healing modalities have expanded her vision and talents. She practices energy healing including animal Reiki, equine facilitated wellness and teaches mindfulness and meditation.

She became a heart poet Illuminator of shadow and light in 2022, when she joined a writers room group. This room transformed her life, and the words and feelings have poured out of her heart into poetry ever since. Her bond with her heart horse, Stella, deepened her appreciation of the natural world and stoked her heart-fire.

She continues to live and learn the ways of her herd, hone her heart-speak and deepen her capacities as a healer at the farm. In the meantime, Shreyasi’s words and love for the natural world can be discovered on social media by searching her social handle @mindfulmarewellness. She proudly co-authored a book on mindfulness meditation and horses with her husband Frank, Sharing the present: mindfulness for equestrians and horse lovers in 2021. Heart Fire is her first book of poetry and she hopes to publish more in future.
