Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Zoom Group

MBSR is a once weekly, 8 week, group program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and associates at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1979. The curriculum is based on the growing areas of mind-body medicine and neuropsychology. Mindfulness can lead to alterations in brain functioning, help us react differently to stress and savor life more. Mindfulness meditation, psycho-education on regulation and physiology of the stress response will be provided by facilitators along with guided inquiry into present moment experience. The potential benefits and challenges of a daily mindfulness practice are also explored in a nonjudgmental group setting. The Zoom version will be ten weeks long, including the Orientation and four hour Silent Retreat after class 6.
